As announced by Peter Wallace (Glebe Warden) : The Northern Regional College (NRC) approached the Select Vestry with a request to sell our existing Parish Centre, Offices and Halls. A formal offer has been received. NRC wish to purchase our site for their own development and expansion of their existing college facilities.

The Select Vestry consulted with the Diocese and the property owners, the Representative Church Body (RCB) and the Diocesan Board of Education, and all have agreed to formally accept the NRC offer (subject to contract). The offer incorporates free use by us of the property site and facilities until 31 December 2018 when the site must be vacated. All church activities previously associated with Parish Centre, Office and Halls must be transferred to a new location by this final date.

Your  elected Select Vestry considers this to be a positive development in our church’s history, which will result in a major new modern facility to be used by us and future generations. The exact nature of what our new Parish Centre will look like has yet to be decided and professional input will be sought.  Opinions will be wide-ranging and Select Vestry will ensure a wide range of opinions, including those of parishioners, are considered. Final schemes will be open for consultation once available.
