Easter Vestry Annual General Meeting

On Tuesday 14th April, at 7:00 pm the members of St Patrick’s and St Andrew’s are encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeeting of the Parish.

This gives us an opportunity to appoint a new Select Vestry, Churchwardens and Glebewardens to serve for the next year. There will also be an election of representatives from the parish to serve for three years as members of the Diocesan Synod, and as Parochial Nominators to help appoint a new rector when a vacancy is announced.

ancial report will help us to understand how the parish is handling both its day to day expenses, and its long term holdings.

An AGM as constituted by the church allows the chairman, if they so wish, to hear questions from the members, and these may be answered on the night, or considered by the Select Vestry and reported later. The strict business of the meeting requires the general vestry to appoint a competent person or body to audit the accounts each year.

No-one proposed by the meeting is obliged to let their name go forward, so it is safe to attend (in case you are worried) but non-attendance by the members can be disheartening for those who bear the burden of parish life. So make an effort – if you can – and be there.
