The Mission of God: Book Launch

On Wednesday 25th February, Cedar & Circle, the book shop on Railway Road, are hosting a book Launch.

Chris Wright, from Belfast has created a second edition of his best-selling book The Mission of God. Dr Wright is part of the Langham Partnership, a grouping which encourages Christian Leaders from around the world by providing teaching opportunities and global experiences. Its origins go back to the ministry of Rev John R W Stott, who was Rector of All Souls, Langham Place – hence the name. You’ve seen the church any time you have watched the intros to BBC News programmes.

A £5 entrance fee includes a 40 Minute lecture from Chris, a Q&A session and, for those who wish to purchase a book, a signed copy. You need to register to attend as spaces are limited.

Those attending may receive a free “Understanding Mission” Guide.

Most Christians would agree that the Bible provides a basis for mission. But Christopher Wright boldly maintains that there is a missional basis for the Bible itself. The entire Bible is generated by and is all about God’s mission. In order to understand the Scriptures, we need a missional hermeneutic, an interpretive perspective in sync with the beating heart of its great mission.
